One of the best Thai boat noodle soup dish ever in Orange County.
Everything was on point.
Flavor, broth, texture of the fat noodles, yes fat noodles!
Delicious and a lot of protein.
Quality is here.
Definitely recommend this location.
Parking can be crazy as you park on the side of the street. -

Let me start by saying that I was a fan of LB Thai and had been going there since I was still in grade school so approximately 20 plus years, and I had always enjoyed their excellent authentic Thai food. However, the lunch I had today on this Saturday, September 21, 2019 with my girlfriend and her son was quite disappointing and somewhat unsatisfying. Not the great restaurant I remembered from the past.
All three of us agreed their quality in service was severely lacking and the server/waiter covering our table was not very accommodating to our requests considering we were quite courteous making those requests. He just plainly told us they cannot accept returned food regardless if it was untouched. As we were disheartened by the food's presentation upon its arrival to our table due to the surprisingly minimal portion provided, we certainly do not agree of the set menu price and indeed is forced upon to pay for it anyways. This was a roasted duck (Peking Duck)which looked to be 1/4 of the duck, possibly the thigh that was cut evenly and spread out on a plate as a facade of being larger in portion than it really is. That plate was around $14.00 and would barely feed my girlfriend let alone her son and myself.
Again, we asked nicely if they can take the plate back as we changed our mind and didn't realize the portion was this scarce. The first girl we ask appear a little bit unsettled aa she probably never dealt with other customers asking this before so she had to go in the back to inquire which I'm assuming are the owners, but they made the guy waiter who took our order to tell us there are NO refunds or returns for food items off the menu once its been cooked and prepared, and still be charged for it. What I find unacceptable and just plain inconsiderate was that he made no effort to offer any kind of accommodations, big or small, and try to resolve this issue. Maybe offer a free or discounted desert or even a discount off the duck dish, or any small kind gesture to make us feel more welcomed and less disappointed, and unhappy with their refusal. We would have been more accepting of their refusal if those gestures were given or practiced on us, a paying customer. Let me reiterate again, the owners are not into customer service friendly oriented business and here to make money. They have trained their employees with that mind set as well.
As an Asian owned restaurant, I can say this as I am Asian myself so I am familiar with this aspect of this service; their focus is not their customers and more concern about overhead costs of everything and not generous when it comes to giving out free items or discount to their food selections. Every little item counts and will charge for any item in excess of the preset portion already given out.
This culture and mindset are NOT great business practices. This is almost severely opposite of the business culture we practice in the U.S., especially when daily and frequent personal interaction with customers are the general occurrence and operations within the majority of all food industry or any service related business. The employees are trained to focus in providing the best level of service to make certain our customers are satisfied and content with our business services so they will want to come back and maintain that continuous business relationship. That's how you build a lasting relationship! Regardless if it's Personal or business.
Without the customers such as myself and my close friends, they will not have a restaurant business to make them money. What LB Thai has greatly lost over the years is not putting/serving to their customers needs as priority. Granted, they have been in the business for 3 decades and over those long years, cost of living, our economy and all CA residents must adjust the cost of inflation to accommodate those changes. With their new location, which is a bigger space, may cause increase of the company's overhead costs, an increase on the menu food items, but this doesn't require them to adjust/decrease the original preset food portion to be served to their regular and loyal customers who's been giving them business throughout these past 20 years to NOT be aware of those changes.
We all agreed that this will be the last we will ever eat th at LB Thai as the food quality went down as well. Apparently, money is more important than people(customers). These people helped their restaurant become a successful business within this past 20 years as we are their bread and butter. We are their business and hopefully after this poor review with 1 star, they will start making improvements within their restaurant and their staff. Hopefully this will initiate an effort or display a better reflection of their intentions of practicing more attentive care and service to their customers. -

CURRY DUCK NOODLE SOUP!!!
The only four words you need to know about this restaurant. Long Beach Thai has the best Thai soup I've had, hands down. The 5 stars solely come from the soup, and the soup alone. You have a choice between flat or skinny noodles. The fat noodles are the rice noodles you will find in pad see ew and the skinny noodles are those like in pad Thai. The soup itself is a perfect mix that tastes like Tom Ka and Pa Nang Curry had a baby. Its a perfect balance of lemon grass, coconut milk, curry, and spices. You have a choice of what meat you'd like but I recommend the roasted duck! It's super tender and soft, with great taste.
But if you were wondering about the other dishes, I have yet to be disappointed. I also enjoy their pad see ew, Tom Kah, fried rice, and egg rolls!
If you're a fan of Thai tea, they sure do have it... but you should try the green Thai tea!! it's so good! Get the large size... it's quite a generous serving.
This is one of my favorite thai places on LB. it can get busy at peak hours but I have yet to wait to be seated. There's ample seating butParking can be difficult because it's located on PCH.
I'll definitely be keepin this place in the books for when I'm craving Thai. -

Came here with my family. Had the bowl of noodles. Portions were generous. The spice was just right and there were so many different ingredients that made each by unique and interesting. Also ordered the fried tofu. Cooked to the correct temperature and crispiness. I would highly recommend this place for its Thai food.

Food was great. Got the noodle curry soup with roast duck. I think roast duck as any option for their food should be taken. The roast duck itself was amazing. The portions were good for what you pay.
